Well, I am largely outclassed here by the quality of woodworking showcased here. I am one of the knuckle dragging, hammer swinging, 2×4 hacking Carpenter types who secretly read FWW and othe woodworking pubs. to get a fix in between the chaotic days of “You’re not done yet!?” daily work. I must admit, I am working on actually having a bonafide shop to work in rather than the roll in/roll out, dodge the rain, sloping driveway, rusting tool dilema of today. Some day.
I’ll show you some qiuck and dirty, yet handy workings I have whipped together and later, hopefully something really nice!

There’s no “box” for a LumberJock to fit into.
The one thing that I quickly learned when I joined was that everyone IS and is treated like a “master woodworker”, whatever their niche is or will be.

I hear you, jello. I’m brand new to this site as well as woodworking and echo the sentiment. Although I’m not even a carpenter, I know how hard it is to get into a shop. Heck, I barely even have a shop. Fortunately, my sweetie’s parents very graciously allowed me to set up in their older garage after an unfortunate ‘disagreement’ with a malcontent neighbor…
I look forward to your jigs. I confess a wierd obsession with jigs. I love to look at my Taunton jig book. I’ve made one tenoning jig but didn’t get the chance to use it before the winter arrived. Soon though.
By the way, Debbie is right. Folks here are very curteous and supportive. I received three welcome emails the day I joined.

As I open my brother-in-laws garage (in which I get a 10’x16’ portion) I have to move my drum sander, so I can enter the shop. Then move the bin with sticks in it, to squeeze past the table saw and move the shop vac to get to anything else. And if I have 1 project in progress, that takes up the remaining room. If I was to have more tools, I’d have no place to keep them.
Truly, I understand.
