An Obscure Musical Instrument, but it's got a case of wood.

An obscure musical instrument. The Theremin.

My brother-in-law sent this to me, and it is truly remarkable. An instrument you play but you can’t touch it.

It is very strange.

Moog, the synthesizer company has been making them for years.

Very cool…if I had one bit of musical talent, I would be tempted to get one. But since I couldn’t carry at tune in bucket, and I have the pitch of a bull elk during mateing season…the world would be a safer place if I didn’t. :-)

I’m pickin’ up good vibrations.

Beach Boys.

Good example of thermin work. That and “It Came From Planet Nine” or any of those creepy scifi flicks.

Whiskey.

I first saw one of these back in the late fifties. You don’t see them too often.

Flash from the past. To show how nerdy I am, I built one of these in the late 60’s when I was a teenager. The Beach Boys Good Vibrations was the inspiration. Thanks for the memories.

Thanks Karson,

This brings back memories.

My son made one of these in his high school electronics class back in 1968.

He used two bronze welding rods for the antennas.

I think he traded it for a drum , or an amplifier.

Never seen one before. Thanks for the share, Karson. I guess they weren’t in style for cowboy music when I was young.

Great one Karson. You could have made this a guessing competition.
