Well, found my way back to your original post. Big Leaf Maple, and about 4”?? Great looking wood for a project like this. I did a bandsaw box at last year’s woodwokring show (very simple one)and been watching others here. If I ever get done with the project I’m on now I need to try another. Love this design though. Again, great job.

This is a nice step by step post. I admire your imagination. Even with this post I do not think that I could envision a box inside the piece of wood.

Thanks. I tried to make the step X step as easy as I could. I just screwed up and made a bunch of cut and a glue before I got the camera again.

I was able to put some of the pieces back in the correct place so you could see the cuts that were necessary.

Just remember if you need a bottom or a back cut it off before you destroy the piece.

You need to think what cuts you will make and the pieces that you will get after making the cut.
