Thanks for the pointer. It’s always worth seeing the experts demonstrate.

I’ve got 2 or 3 lock miter bits. A large size 1/2” size and I’ve never been able to set them up I guess I need to get a set-up-block. And hope thats the same profile as my bit.

I thought you had to buy their bit to buy the set up block. I’ve got the bit but could use the block. I’ll have to check again.

I found on the MLCS web site a link to about 12 videos instead of the three I posted. The link is here
Some of these videos are by John Nixon, a LumberJock

these may be one of the ones that you use in a dedicated table , if so then you need to decide how often you will use it . and thats whats had me sittin on the fence so long . i already have 5 dedicated tables and 4 dedicated hand held lol im running out of room ! i think ill pick a spot on the wall and put a mark there every time i need the setup for a couple months and see how many marks i have lol thank you again karson

Thanks for the honorable mention Karson :-)
I have a section in my first pool table video that show the way I go about setting up the lock miter bit without a block. I have the larger bit from Rockler, which I’ve never been able to find a setup block for.
Here’s a link to the pool table video that shows the lock miter bit setup:

Thanks, Karson. I just watched those three this morning. I beleive that MLCS has a settup block for their miter lock. I think I have it, too…LOL I have a box i have been planning to build for awhile, but never get around to finishing it. I plan to use the 45 degree lock on it. Those videos sure are a help in setting up the router table for them.
Thanks, again.
God Bless,
Hawg

Hi Karson
I have been looking at MLCS as an alternate supplier for my router bits. Do you know what the quality of the product is like compared to say Freud or CMT?

Tony: I’ve never used CMT or Freud bits, so I can’t compare them. I’ve been very happy with the MLCS ones. Their store was about 40 miles from where I lived in NJ. So I’d drop by often. They sell once tried bits also. When they got a shipmebnt in they would try the bits that were in a matched set like style and rail to insure that the wood matched up ok. Then they’d sell those bits at 50% off. So I’ve picked up quite a few of those styles for a song. (No I don’t sing)
