Part 1: Adding a bit more rip fence railing length to my tablesaw.
I have a stock G1023SL tablesaw, which has the “30ish” inch rails. It works out to having approx 26” on the right side of the blade, because the rails are somewhat more centered than traditional rails. While this might be useful on a right tilt saw, when you might want to move the fence to the left side of the blade to avoid a trapped cut situation, it is not much use on a left tilt. Part 2: Re-Attaching the Rails
With the rails cut, it was time to re-attach and re-align the rails. Although imperfect, they did go back on, and leave plenty of mitre clearance. Still, due to the nature of the way the rectangular tube steel that grizzly uses to ride the rail fence on mounts to the angle iron, there is still some sticking out on the left. Part 3: Power switch, get out of the way!
Now that big power switch hangs out way on the left. Got to neaten that up a bit. Oh, and I nearly forgot, look at the new rip fence max distance! Whoo hoo! Almost 35 inches! Anyway, back to the power switch. I simply unbolt the big green steel plate it is attached to. And the big angled support arm. Hrm. The big green mounting plate can’t simply be removed, as they ran the electrical through it. Damn. Guess I have to de-wire and re-wire it. ...
Part 4: Jess-Em Mast-R-Slide

Part 5: Mini Outfeed Table
Just when you (and I) thought I was done with my tablesaw improvements… I noticed during some demo/construction at work, they were tossing out some perfectly fine laminated ply shelving. I also have been feeling the desire for some more outfeed room.
