With the rails cut, it was time to re-attach and re-align the rails.
Although imperfect, they did go back on, and leave plenty of mitre clearance.

Still, due to the nature of the way the rectangular tube steel that grizzly uses to ride the rail fence on mounts to the angle iron, there is still some sticking out on the left.

Essentially, you’ve got to move the mounting holes over precisely 2 inches. Blue tape lets me take notes on the black material so I don’t forget which direction I’m going.

I drill the new precise holes.

Then tap them 1/4-20.

Then back onto the saw they go!

Voila, plenty of clearance on the left side. I could even remove that whole wing now and install something there. hint hint
Except for that power switch…
