Today I met with a friend at his house and while in the garage i noticed a band saw covered up in the corner.
I ask what make it was and he uncovered it. Wow! It looked new, I thought to myself “I would love to have a saw like that. I have an old craftsman and it has seen better days.
About then he says if I would be willing to trade for a little work I could have it…Double WOW!
Of course I took him up on the offer, I know little about it except they bought it new used it a couple of times and it has sat in the corner collecting dust. And not saw dust!
I brought it home blew off the cob webs and I am pleased with it so far by looks alone, I need a blade the one that is there was use ito cut steel ….yes its a wood blade, need I say more

It is a 2003 but I think it will work out just fine.

That is a nice find. Grizzley makes a good line of tools.

That’s the same model I have. I’ve had mine a couple of years and really like it. I added the 6” riser to mine, to do some resawing. I’m sure you will be happy with it.

One of the things I enjoyed most about fixing up my ‘new’ bandsaw was brining a shine back to that cast iron table! It doesn’t look like much if anything needs to be replaced on your find, but I needed some replacement parts and I am very pleased with the process. I placed my Grizzly order on a Monday and had the pieces by Wednesday. Grizzly will also likely have a PDF manual online for your saw which will help in replacement parts if needed. Congrats on a great ‘trade’

I just came back in from the shop and she is gleeming! It took a bit of elbow grease to get them rings off from the cups!!!!!!!
That is a pet peave of mine{NEVER SET A CUP OR DRINK OF ANY KIND} on my saws. They always leave a ring of rust GRRRR!
Thanks for the comments….I was a bit excited when I posted this….lol

I have that sasw. I added the riser block to get more resaw capacity. I also installed the Carter bearings, which you might consider.

NICE find – that saw retails at Grizzly for $400.00 + Freight———-interesting to see how much work your friend will want you to do. Seems like a win/win for both of you.
