I've had a devleoping interest in woodworking for a number of years, and have finally started taking steps to turn it into a hobby. I work with computers in my daily life, and I'm finding woodworking to be the complete antithesis of computer work - artistic, organic, and it demands that you slow down and take your time.
I found LumberJocks through Marc Spagnuolo's (aka "The Wood Whisperer") podcast. If you haven't given it a look, I highly suggest that you check it out.
My long-term goal is to get into the construction of musical instruments such as hammered dulcimers and psalterys. However, I am really just taking the first steps down that road.
