When I built my house (yes I built it; didn’t hire someone else to build it and say I built it) I rocked and finished the attached garage. I have 2 bays with an extra space to the side. 2 1/2 bays ?? I have a big swing out casement window over my bench looking to the north at Saratoga Passage of Puget Sound. I can see the sail boats on the bay and the crabbers and fishermen.

My wife has this strange notion that a garage is for parking the car so every evening one bay gets occupied. My Table Saw and Band Saw are on casters so when I need them, I roll them into that bay. The Band Saw is a 16” Grizzley and real heavy so the casters are stout.They are 220 and I have a 220 cord that is dedicated for them. The Drill Press is on casters ( large base so it won’t tip over) as well as the Router Table and I have a Makita Planer / Jointer that is on a dolly also on casters. You might say the whole place is on wheels.

It works well as if I’m building a boat, the equipment is always in the way so I just move it around. Summertime we often leave the car out (my truck never sees the inside) and that frees up space. It’s 24’ deep and 32’ wide. The ceiling height is 10’ so I can spin a board without beating up the ceiling. Fully insulated and rocked: it’s reall cozy even in the winter.
