I'm a 44 year old IT professional that dreams of leaving the corporate world and starting a woodworking business. I am married with one daughter and three sons. All but one of my sons have or are serving in the Navy.
I've only been woodworking for slightly over a year. I feel I've progressed fairly rapidly but still feel like an apprentice. So far I've not tried my hand at turning, carving or laminating. Once I've progressed enough to be passable on these other woodworking skills I might call myself a journeyman, but certainly not a master by any means.
While not working or woodworking I find a couple hours to play Lord of the Rings Online, a massively multi-player online role playing game.

I long for the possibility of working in wood on a more than part-time basis. I too am in IT, but I own my business. I don’t know if it makes it harder or not. I wish you luck in making the transition.

Nice work. I left a Production Control position with Magna International to make shavings for a living. I understand your desire to do it for a living. No name KD isn’t as bad as you think- just add grade D ground beef…
You do beautiful work, if I had learned what you have per annum, I’d be on top of the world.
