Changing table - My first big project

Blog entry by IcemanSam posted 91 days ago 108 reads 0 times favorited 1 comment Add to Favorites

I have finally started building the changing table for my brother and his wife. I got the plan from u-bild. I am building the project out of red oak. I have the pieces all cut and ready to assemble at this point. I have assembled a few pieces, getting to use my finish nailer for the first time. That thing is a little scary the first couple of squeezes of the trigger. My saw is cutting through the oak just find, after figuring out the speed I needed to feed it. Pictures to follow later today i hope…more progress to follow…

Ok, still trying to figure out this pic posting to the blog thing…

(9/9/08) Have finished the carcass. Still have to make the drawers and doors. Have made a few mistakes along the way, but nothing I have not been able to repair. Haven’t had time to get the pics loaded and figure out the blog pic posting…

(9/13/08) All put together…Now in the sanding/finishing stage. Using a honey pine glossy finish per request of the new owner.
