I've been trying to learn woodworking on my own for about 3 years now. My original thinking was that I could do anything if I planned things out, used appropriate tools, and was patient. It has turned out to be more complicated than that, but I'm enjoying learning along the way.

Almost all of my woodworking education comes from trial-and-error, watching new yankee workshop (and a little of roy underhill's show), and the web.

I spend more time trying to figure out how to work around my workshop's flaws instead of just getting to work. I think I could win a $100,000 shop and I'd still do the same thing. I do love it though.
