Thorsen Greene and Greene Table - Yellow Birch Under construction

This table is a continuation of the special series that my father started. The series was “The Uniqueness of our Woods”. All of the tables that we made in our family were unique woods.Mine is ”Yellow Birch” The wood is a pleasing pink color in the heartwood, lighter than cherry,. The sapwood is whiter. The quartersawn pieces have flecks similar to White Oak. The wood is quite dense and heavy. Here I am gluing up one of the sides. Everyone seems to be showing their tables with clamps, here is one of me. We’ve never seen wood with monograms before but two of the tables that we are working on have similar marks.
