Well, I’m starting to recover. Many thanks to all of you who have sent me notes of encouragement, prayers and calls. It means a great deal to me. I am still very uncomfortable, but not too bad. It doesn’t hurt much more than it did before as long as I take my medication “as instructed by the Dr.” I got a lecture from my Paramedic brother that the doctors prescribe medication a certain way for a reason. Its easier to keep ahead of the pain than to chase it down. I agree now.
I especially would like to thank Karson for his call. It couldn’t have come at a better time. I was pretty uncomfortable and getting restless and it really helped take my mind off of things for a while.
Things were going pretty well until last night, I had been sleeping in my ugly but very comfortable recliner but decided I shoud try the bed. It wasn’t as comfortable and to top it all off, I stubbed my little toe in the night going to the bathroom. I must have looked like a cartoon hoping around like that. (didn’t feel funny at the time, but in hind sight I can see it was now.)
I thought that getting back on line would be the best first step. I have really missed checking in on all the projects and blogs. I don’t make comments as often as some others but I do try and read everyone’s input. I think it is great. Martin, you have started something that is now bigger than all of us.
Good luck to all of the entries in the Thorsen Table Challenge. I wish you all the best. Please feel free to call or email me, I would enjoy the company so to speak.
Thanks again and God Bless,
Greg

Glad to hear you are back up on your feet, so to speak. Take it easy, get well and return to us when you are able.

It is great to hear that the operation went well. I’m sorry to hear that your little toe suffered so. We’ll do our best to keep you busy here, until you’re fully healed and ready to build somemore projects. God Bless!

Your brother’s right. Most procedures of this type have a standard post-op protocol for you to follow that’s been developed based on long experience. Take your meds and follow the other instructions to the letter. Don’t go by how you feel today. And, above all, BE PATIENT! You’ll improve faster that way.
<chuckle> And that means no hand-planing for a while!
Glad you’re better. You’re in my prayers.

I’m glad to hear your recovery is on it’s way. Sorry about the little toe, that’s not funny.

my guess is that the pain you were in momentarily disappeared as the pain of the stubbed toe took priority.
I hope the pain from the operation goes away as quickly.
Glad to hear you are up and about AND back in touch with LumberJocks :)
Take care!!!
