My shop is a 16×24 garage behind my house. The inside walls are insulated and covered with 5/8” drywall for that extra “bump” protection. Wired with 110 and 220, with a sleeve air conditioner for those muggy days, and a natural gas wall mounted furnace for those cold Canadian winters. The furnace draws it’s air from outside the shop so I can keep the building on its foundation while working with flammables inside. Lots of fluorescent lighting and a home made dust collector on the ceiling to keep the eyes sharp, and the lungs working a little longer. Wood and clamp storage is mostly on the walls, and as far as machines, I have a Delta table saw, General planer and jointer, King bandsaw and dust collector, and they are all on wheels so I can keep them out of the way when not in use. Various other hand and power tools that keep me learning how to use them, and of course my best buddy.. my beagle “Zeus” keeps an eye on me to ensure I am working, and not just napping out there. The shop is still a work in progress, and I am planning cupboards and a new work bench for this year, and hopefully a storage shed out behind the shop to get all the “non woodworking” tools out of the woodshop. If you look closely on the work bench you will see one of the “Wood Whisperer’s” purple heart and maple cutting boards.. thanks Marc.. lots of points with the wife for that one.. :)

Gator,
You have a nice shop. It looks like a well-organized space in which to work and you have a nice set of tools to play with. I am sure you don’t have to worry about your tools walking off with a trained guard dog like this on duty. :)
Thanks for the tour. I enjoyed looking at your shop and Zeus.

Thanks guys… I really enjoy my time out there. I am an office geek by day, so it is very relaxing to spend the evening building something, or even doing nothing but sharpening chisels …
The only danger anyone would ever be in with Zeus, is if they had a treat in your pocket… :)
