The FLWoodRat is an OBG (Old Bald Guy) living in South East Florida who loves to play in his garage shop.
Woodworking is just a hobby for me. Most days I can be found attempting to mold adult minds as a technical instructor at a nuclear training facility. (Come to think of it, some of these adult minds are quite moldy without my input.)
For the past two and a half years my lovely wife of 31 years and I have been remodeling our house. Three nasty ladies (Francis, Jean and Wilma) visited us and left some remnants behind. I'm slow.. God Bless my wife's patience. During that time frame we've also watched our two kids mature into fantastic young adults.
Our oldest (Son) graduated from college, got married to a dream of a young lady and 13 months later presented us with a beautiful grand daughter.
Our youngest (Daughter) is still iln school. To date, she has obtained her BS degree in Food Science, her MS in Nutrition and is currently well into her PHD program for her Doctorate in Neural Science. She must get it from her Mom. And, even as busy as she is, she has also found a good mate. They will be wed on 08/08/08 in sunny Boise, Idaho.
Hopefully, by then the "project" will be done and we can drive cross country and enjoy the clean DRY air, cool nights and sunny days with our family members there. (Wifey's Father, one of her sisters, our God Daughter plus a whole bunch of Wifey's cousins live there.) FYI, my Father in Law is the BEST! Not only did he give me his eldest daughter's hand in marriage (I remember him saying,, Hell No.. you gotta take all of her!@!@@!"), he set a wonderful example of how to be a loving, patient and good father and patient, supporting spouse.
Sorry if this is TMI, but what the heck, it's who I am.
As Wifey's Grand Mother "Nonnie" used to say
" Let's be happy today. We have the rest of our lives to worry about being sad".
God Bless her, she lived to 92 and I only saw her cry once.
Be Happy and remember: "Leaving the SHOP with the same number of fingers you entered with constitutes a good day!"

To everyone that welcomed me. Thank you. Thos, I will be in Boise in August, but will most likely be quite busy. Thanks for the invite. To the Other OBG David.. I actually do share my tools. Actually, whenever I upgrate the old but still good ones are usually shared with friends as gifts. They are always appreciated and well taken care of in their new homes.
