Simple detached 2 car garage / workshop. I’m long on ideas and visions of what I want it to look like, but unfortunately short of the time and money to do it!

Over time I’ll continue to finish it out and fill it with tools.

9/30/07 – posted some new photos. Have done some work to the shop, including the epoxy floor coating and insulating the ceiling and gable walls. I wanted to leave the ceiling joists exposed as i am using that space for lumber storage – so the insulation company put r13 on the roof line and put solarguard on the gable walls.

Question: should i cut out the solarguard insulation around the gable vents? Right now it is completely covered, but i think i’ll be better off allowing the vents to function properly and even installing a gable fan to keep things cooler in the summer. Thoughts?

Welcome from Louisiana! May want to insulate those walls and ceiling. It has made a big difference on heating my shop. I agree with, Karson. Natural light is a must and I put more than twice the lighting that you have and, even though I was ragged about all the lighting, I find that during bandsawing and drilling with the drill press I need to add task lighting. Good luck with the developement of your shop.

Hi Fireball,

You have a nice shop space and a nice set of tools to work with. I really like the epoxied floor. It brightens up the shop space and makes cleaning much easier.

Thanks for sharing.
