I have been into woodworking since about 1996. I am basically self taught, starting with a table saw and a number of hand planes and chisels. Over the years, I have equipped my shop - usually a tool per project in the beginning.
Now I find myself building projects for my children, ranging from grandfather clocks to foosball tables to grandchildren's high chairs.
When I started, I didn't tend to favor any specific type of project - just something that interested me. I then got into clocks, buying movements, hardware and plans - then building the housing. My tastes then went toward Arts & Craft / Mission furniture. Now I have gravitated toward Greene & Greene.
Until last year, I haven't taken any classes. Last year I took a class on building a Morris chair (American Sycamore) and a Maloof style rocker (Marc Adams). Working with other woodworkers at these classes makes them extremely memorable and worthwhile. Every woodworker has different techniques for getting the job done!
I found this site by accident and am hoping that it will provide me with the opportunity to exchange ideas with other woodworkers.

I see you’re into clocks. I just finished my first one and will be posting here as soon as I get around to having a photo shoot.
