Thought i would post some pictures as I start to set up my shop. This will be my first official shop. I’m looking forward to getting it set up and working full time for myself. Hopefully i will be up and running with in a month or so, then hopefully ill find some jobs haha. Some tools that i have moved in so far 28” Bandsaw, powermatic table saw, new grizzly 12” jointer and 15” planer both will spiral cutters. Need to set up the dust collection, build out a office and a 60’ wall. Then have an electrician come in. I will post more pictures as things move along.

You ought to do a progress blog on setting up your shop. That would make for an interesting read.

The bandsaw is from the 1930s i will try and get the name tomorrow. It was used in a ship yard up till the 80s then used in a woodcarving shop on the north shore of Ma. The shafts are all new machined and run new timken bearings and grease fittings. Its a beast. Unfortunately I had just missed out on a 20” jointer the guy had sold the week before. Oh well, I haven’t set up any of the grizzly tools yet but i will let everyone know what I think because i have never been a fan of grizzly, yet.

Brian, Is the band saw a tilting arbor type? They are really nice and were commonly used in ship building. I’m with Scott, you should do a progress blog. I to am developing a shop and have learned by trial and error several things along the way that no one seems to have written about. Some of these mistakes can be expensive. Very nice tool list.

i don’t know its pretty heavy, it was in a basement too. We took it all apart to move it and i still took three of us and a lift gate truck.
