20 mil is the least thickness to use. Use the vinyl for less expense.
Veneer doesn’t go stale so if you buy a lot you will have it for whenever you want it.

Someone’s trash is someone else’s treasure. Paul has $50 bundles that have a terrific selection of veneers that would cost 3x as much elsewhere.

It’s really hard to screw up veneer but if you do the expense, at our level, is not that great.

I’ve bought all of my veneer on ebay. The prices have gone up since I started buying. And I’ve not bought any in 4 years because I’ve got 2-3 lifetimes supply.

Woodcraft has a deal with a veneer company in SC. I spoke with them at IWF and they were surprised at how big a market it has become. It is geared towards the small user market and, inch per inch, it is very expensive but if you only want a small amount it is not too bad. Personally, I would rather spend a little more and get a whole lot more.

www.certainlywood.com is a major supplier of veneer. They have a good discount program. We sometimes pool our orders to take advantage of the 30% discount.

Just in case you are left handed – you cannot use the veneer saw with a handle on it because it is only designed for right handed folk. You need to get the french made veneer saw. It can be used wither handed.
