Just an idea

It just struck me that I would like to make some kind of till for my Japanese saws (that I primarily use for carpentry). I’m always nervous about bending the blades or chipping the teeth when throwing them (always set them on top of everything in my tool bag) in the bag with clamps, hammers, drill motors and the like. They’re protected by the cardboard sleeves they came in, but the idea of a long, narrow till, seems right to me.

I’m thinking it would be nice to make it “Japanese” style or “Asian Inspired” in some way to relate to the contents. I’m also thinking – nothing fancy. A quick and dirty project (when I actually get a round to doing it!). Just a wooden box with a hinged top. Maybe dovetailed corners (too “fancy”?) and tansu corner hardware (might be pushing it here)?

If you have any ideas I’d take those too!

I belive Phillip Edwards had a simple wall mounted one that I was considering to trying to make. It would make them accessable for use. I saw it in one of his shop photos.
