My worrkshop is basically just over half our garage. We can’t park cars in there anymore. Nearly all of the tools are Craftsman.
My primary tools are:
Craftsman 3hp Table Saw
Craftsman 12” Band Saw
Craftsman 6” Jointer
Craftsman 2 1/2hp Planer
Craftsman 9” and 12” Drill Presses
Craftsman 10” Straight Miter Saw
Craftsman 4×36 Belt/Disc Sander
Jet Mini Lathe
Black & Decker 1 3/4hp Plunge Router
I do the major cutting/drilling/sanding work in the garage. The inlay and finishing work is done on a worktable in the house.
Actually I think my most important tool is my Dremel Moto-Tool with a plunge router base. I use it to cut all the inlets on the boards.

Nice workshop Jeff. Is the fence on the bandsaw a purchased product or did you build it?

The fence on the bandsaw (as well as the 9” drill press) is sold at Rockler. I can’t tell you how happy I am with it as the accuracy of the saw was tripled after I installed it.
As far as the last picture and the “look behind the scenes” – the unfinished board there will be up here in a couple of weeks. It is turning out to be my most precise work to date.

Hey Jeff,
How do you rate the craftsman power tools? I’ve never used them much, although I do have a craftsman radial arm saw that I picked up at a yard sale last year and it performs great.

To date I have had no problems with the Craftsman tools. My oldest power tool, the table saw is about 4 years old and could use a little tune-up, but generally I’m happy with them all. I know there are much better tools out there, but I think the reason I usually stick with Craftsman is the balance of cost and quality.

Looks like a fun place to hide Jeff.
You’ve got the critical mass now so …next its the eternal hunt for nice wood.
p.s. you will need another shed for this. <g>

Hi Jeff,
You have a nice shop and a nice set of tool with which to play.
Thanks for the post.

Thanks for the shop tour. That looks like the same drill press I got. I vowed it would be the last Craftsman tool I’d ever buy.
