Router Table #3: Joint rough in and glue up

« Part 2: Joint Experiments Part 3 of Router Table series no next part

Got a bunch done this weekend on getting the joints cut out and rough fitting the “pie” together. Struggled a bit with the mortises, and although they fit snuggly, they were not as square as I would have liked. Having a decent set of chisels, which I bought after my joint experiment really helped out, but I still lack the experience (I know it will come…that’s why I’m doing this).

Once I was satisfied with the joints and the rough fit, I glued up the end pieces and let them “cure” overnight. The joints are much stronger than I would have thought and I’m very pleased with how they turned out (all things considered). I added the top stretchers this evening and continue to be impressed with how strong this frame is. I plan to add the bottom stretchers tomorrow (time permitting) and then on to “how to attach the top” problem. Pictures of progress are below:

Update: Added final picture of completed table with top installed (sorry about that delay…been busy in the shop and not on the computer)

You are coming along well on this project. The joinery looks pretty good also.
