I am a government IT architect by trade, however I have a love of woodworking that has stretched back for many years. Unfortunately, I do not often get to spend much time in the workshop/garage nowadays since most of my time is spent with my wife and newborn daughter (July 2007).
Who knows, in a few years I'll be helping my daughter use a handsaw to make a birdhouse or jewellery box!
I am very technical minded, and somewhat of a perfectionist, which sometimes interferes with my woodwork but it really helps when it comes to disseminating knowledge. I had started "my own website":http://www.WoodworkDetails.com before I found LumberJocks, but I will keep it going since it has become a repository of my woodworking knowledge.
I intend to continue writing articles in "my blog":http://lumberjocks.com/jocks/Dekker/blog here, with most being knowledge based. When I finally get back to the workshop, I'm sure I'll post about my progress on my next project!
