I’m a part time, would love to someday be fulltime, woodworker. Other than High School shop and lots of books, Im self taught. I’m currently another Sam Maloof disciple. I wanted to prove to myself that “I can do that” so most of what I’ve built over the past year or so has been Maloof replicas or based on his style. I am getting closer but still not quite there. Maybe one of these days I’ll come up with my own style : )
My wife and I went to Alta Loma CA in the spring of “06 to visit the Maloof museum and I had the wonderful honor of meeting Mr. Maloof, and the guys that work with him, and spend a couple hours in his shop asking questions and watching them work.

Welcome to LJ! That must have been something to go to the Maloof Museum and get to see the shop in action. You have posted beautiful work.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless
