Part 2: Shared Beauty 11 - 17 - 2006
When people view some of my projects. They always mention some of the beautiful background scenery in the background. I’d like share the whole beauty that we have here. Take a peek I built this sailboat in 1965, from plans In Mechanics Illustrated Magazine.
Part 3: Carving a Bear on a Tamarack Post.
In the fall of 2005, I built a small deck area between our cabin, & a little multi- purpose toolshed, & Barb’s Library. I had cut down a tall Tamarack tree that was blocking our satellite signal. Being that I hate wasting wood, I built a railing on the deck. Then I decided to carve something, so I chose this Bear. The Tamarack was green so it carved pretty nice. The heart wood was dark, it gave the Bear a nice background. Barb was taking snaps of me carving, so I made this short...

Part 6: Logging operation, not by choice!!
Barb was feeling better last Thursday, so we took a jaunt up to our cabin for the day. We new in advance what to expect when we got there. Our good Neighbor called us a about it. A big old Black Spruce tree, between 90, & 100 years old, had blown down right in front of our cabin. He was kind enough to cut some of the lower branches that were on our dock. We were fortunate, because it missed or dock by an eye lash. It destroyed a glider, but I didn’t feel too bad, because...
Part 7: A cute Bear Cub near our cabin.
I’m sorry, I haven’t been very active lately, I’ve been familiarizing myself with my new computer. It takes time to transfer the oodles of my picture files, plus learning a new system. We were up at our cabin a few days last week, closing it down for the season, & on the way home this Cub ran across in front of us. The road is real close to the lake, & by the looks of his fur, he had just taken a bath. I stopped, & took these pictures from inside the car. I...
Part 8: The Cain Peninsula, a 360 degree view.
I’ve been fiddling around, & organizing my photos. I took a little break, & made this short slideshow video. These picture where taken last fall, 2006.This video was taken kind of close to the cabin. I have another with the tripod set from a different vantage point. I’ll post that in another blog.
