My new iMac!!

Blog entry by Dick, & Barb Cain posted 384 days ago 269 reads 0 times favorited 15 comments Add to Favorites

Hi,
I’ve been playing around with my new” iMac. This will send you to my forum topic, Buying a new computer.

I found out that there’s more work involved, when you replace a computer. When I got my first PC, I was starting from scratch, but this time transferring files, plus trying to learn some new things on this system is quite a chore.

My Son was helping me the other day so he got in the show.

It’s kind of strange having such a large screen, but it sure nice for viewing things. I’ll have to make a lower desk, because It’s hard to read the top of the screen, without getting a sore neck. That’s what happens when you have bifocals. LOL

This is a side by side comparison of old, & new.

My Son helping me get going!

Thanks!!
I forgot to mention that I’m going to have to make a new desk for this large screen. It has to be a little lower, because
I have to tilt my head back to far, bifocals you know.LOL

Wow, nice screen. I wish I had a new Mac, mine is a few years old now and I got the Mini Mac, I bet the new IMac is great, I haven’t seen it yet at the Apple store but will check it out next time I visit. I’m so glad you went with the Mac I am sure you will be happy with it.

My 2000 era Gigabit Ethernet PowerMac is jealous. I, however, couldn’t be happier for you. Great looking toy Dick! Have fun.

I just edited this blog, because some couldn’t see my gallery.

Congratulations Dick.

But I build my Windows based machines, so a Mac is not one of my choices.

When the family want to upgrade I pass mine over to a child and I get a new one. It’s usually just a motherboard and CPU. I keep the old hard drives etc.

Kudos Dick! Great minds think alike… even though yours is bigger than mine! ;o)

I’m writing you from my once top-of-the-line and now venerable PowerBook G4 17”. Quite big for a laptop I’d say. I see you’ve got the 24”. It’s exactly the same model we’re getting in a few weeks. We’re cheap so we are waiting the release of Leopard and thus saving $129… that will go towards more stuff, that’s clear.

The nice thing is that I succeed to convince The Boss that she NEEDS to get a new 24” iMac just for checking the e-mail and surfing the web… shame on me! :oD

Thanks Jojo, I didn’t know about Leopard, until I got mine. That’s what happens all the time. you buy something, & the next day they come out with something new.

Don’t worry Dick, that’s business as usual. Anyway, check with your local Apple Store as soon as Leopard gets out of the cage because they have a policy of exchange if you bought your product within the xx days previous to the release of a new version (can’t remember how many, now).
