Half the garage is mine, half belongs to the wife. But she does let me keep some lumber on her side, as long as I only make sawdust on MY side. I have some tarps sealed with duct tape dividing the two sides. (Can a woodworker use duct tape without shame? <g>)

Looks like a very functional shop. I’m in the process of building mobile carts for some of my equipment so that I can store it out of the way when not using. You should make the wife move the washer and dryer to her side :-))

Podna,, you get some serious box work done in that small space. Your stock just keeps rising in my estimation.
Looks like you and Bill must be neighbors. Two more reasons to revisit N’awlins.

Actually, Bill, the washer and dryer are on her side. I posted that to show the closet I built to store some of my junk in. I also keep some longer lenghts of lumber on top of it.

Doug, I’m sure I speak for Bill too when I say we’d love to treat you to a New Orleans meal and a shop visit the next time you get down here.

Nice job with a small amount of space. I have a single car garage, so I know how hard it can be shuffling stuff around. I’m still working on making all of my tools mobile…

lol mrtrim! After “listening” for the 874th time about my damned sawdust all over her washer and dryer (did I mention I do most of the laundry?), I broke down and divided the shop in half.

#1 The ladder should be on her side. #2 Is the tennis racker hers or yours.

Great shop Charlie. Nice and clean and keeping the dust off your side seems to be working. How about her side. Is it as clean?

Peace be with you.

I could use a little more space. I have to much junk.

Karson, dividing the space has been a marriage saver. <g> I still store a lot of stuff on her side, but I only make sawdust on MY side.

Nice shop Charlie! I think the car should go…..lol we LJ’s need all the space we can get. My shop is approx. 25’X30 and I find myself needing more room. Verdict is in, car is out….by the way Good luck with that.

Build her a jewelry box, a really nice one. Put a few things inside of course. I bet the car moves then…
Nice little shop, you made great use of the available space.

I’m not sure how the disinformation about the car got started, but there is NO car in the garage at all. Her side is hers because she hates sawdust on the washer and dryer. My sons ping-pong table is over there as well. He is 21, in grad school, and wants to be a high school teacher, so I might never get him or his stuff out of the house.

Nice job on the boxes, Charlie. I don’t see the air conditioner in your shop. I lived in Gretna for two years and worked, for short periods of time, in a one car garage, with no a/c. I think I lost about 10 lbs every time I went out there.

Charlie, great use of the space you’ve created. How much ceiling room do you have filled up?

Do you mean as far as hanging racks, etc?

With only about 8 1/2 foot ceilings, and the space that the roll-up doors require, there isn’t much I can do with ceiling space.

Hi Charlie,

I apologize for just now getting around to your shop post. You have a nice shop there and I figured out what was going on when I saw the tarp dividing the garage. It looks like you have some nice cabinet space in there and a nice set of tools as well.

Thanks for the shop tour. I really appreciate it.

Hi Charlie

Never looked at your shop till now. Great looking shop and beautiful home. Who is the landscaper at your house. Its has been a long winter up here. Is that green grass? I will probably find out soon enough when I have to start cutting it again!

God Bless
tom

Charlie – good looking shop! I like your simple table saw table – looks very functional. Well done on the arrangement with the wife, as well.
