SawStop Contractor Model Purchase from Cradle to Shop #8: Puttin it together - Very Impressed - Lexus Quality Fit and Finish

Yesterday, I went to pick up my new SawStop. I got a very nice surprise worth $380. Since Woodcraft had received and order of 10 SawStop’s in one shipment they weren’t charged the individual shipping charges per saw and refunded me my shipping charge !! Unbelievable. My lucky day.

After getting the saw home I was also surprised that it was not as hard to physically handle as I expected. The heaviest box was about 250 (I believe). Only needed one neighbor to move it from the truck to my shop.

After assembling the frame, mobile frame, and attaching the main saw body to the frame I am very impressed. The instructions were color coded and numbered AND BIG fonts. Absolutely the best instructions I have seen thus far. The kudo’s will not stop here. The parts were top quality with an impressive think finish. Every nut, washer, lock washer etc. had the fine finish. All holes aligned perfectly,,,,,,,,, yes I said perfectly. I didn’t have to struggle with a single bolt or nut.
Did I mention that the packaging and organization of the parts was also outstanding.

Having experienced the quality of the Lexus automobile it is easy for me to equate the Sawstop to that level of fit and finish and attention to detail…..... at this point in the assembly. Back at it again tonight.

Note – I did find one small error in the instructions. Called for tightening a bolt with a 13mm wrench and should have been a 12 mm. Called SawStop today to let them know and they were appreciative. Back at the assembly tonight.
