Called Woodcraft this morning to check on the status of my SawStop Contractor saw since it was due in today. Got the good news that it is in and waiting on my eager little hands to pick it up….... well will take a lot of hands to pick it up. Went home at lunch to change from car to truck, back at work and waiting on last meeting of the day to head to Woodcraft. Not particularly looking forward to assembly since I’m sometimes mechanically challenged and expect it will take sometime to finish the setup. At least we are out of the Cradle and headed to the Shop.

I am sure that you you are going to have fun with this. You certainly have waited long enough. But this is a quality tool that is worth the wait. I am excited for you as well.

I would be very interested in reading details about how it is packaged, especially related to how easy it is to transport.
I’m considering buying this saw, but have two issues related to transport:
1) I have a Subaru wagon to carry it in, and I’m wondering if in its shipping configuration it will be a manageable weight and size to get in and out of this vehicle.
2) When I get it home I have to move it to a basement shop, down narrow stairs with a turn at the bottom, with my wife and I carrying it. I’m wondering if it comes in separate assemblies that are small and light enough to make this possible.

The main box would be too heavy for your wife …... most likely. It was about 250 lbs. My wife is strong and good at helping me lift things but I didn’t ask her as it was too much. Going down stairs and turning will take too strong guys. But buy one if you can and get some help. It is really a fine built amazing machine not counting safety features.
