Yes. I think it takes a little over 20 Bf per chair for the plans that I have. I got a bunch of Redwood at a yard sale a couple of weekends ago. I’m going to use that.

Was going to start on the chairs today, but spent the time cleaning the shop up and playing with the drill press I found yesterday.

That press is really cool. Someday, I hope to get my grandfather’s old Chicago Tools floor-standing press up here from Texas.

20 BF sounds about right. I think my plans are for around 20 – 26 or something. Hey, maybe you and I should have an LJ Adirondack chair challenge. Ha!

I’m using the woodcraft plans. The come with a set of hardboard router templates. Going to temeplate route the parts.

Wayne, I wish mine had those cool templates… I debated on getting that set of plans. As it is, I’ve had to scan mine (out of an old issue of American Woodworking) and take it to Kinko’s to get full size prints to create my templates. That’s okay. It’s a good excuse/reason to use my bandsaw. woohoo!!

Love it. I’ve enjoyed many of your posts and some of your responses to my many “newbie” questions. I think seeing someone’s shop says something about their woodworking “methodology” if you will. I would love a review of not only the Kreg fence, but the Jet 16” as well. I’m looking at purchasing a better bandsaw early next year as a graduation present to myself! I have looked at your saw and also a Grizzly knock off of it. Was the factory fence any good?

Thanks everyone. I appreciate you taking the time to look. It was indeed a ‘challenge’. The video is pretty far from my original vision but like I said, a great deal was learned.

USCJeff – I’ll see what I can do on those reviews. It may be a while yet but I have definitely been thinking about it. I really need to use it more to give an accurate account. RE: the factory fence – I don’t know. On the 16” model, it’s an option (standard on the 18 and 20 inch models). Gizmodyne has the same saw and he DOES have the Jet fence. He might be able to offer some comments. I think in his shop tour he mentioned being happy with it so far. The deal I got was supposed to include the fence but they were out of stock so I negotiated for a 1” resaw blade and the HTC base it’s on.

PJ – you know, that’s a good question. I haven’t even looked to see. It was on the floor blocking something I was moving and I just picked up and set it on top of the flower pot. I’ll have to check. I don’t think it is but you never know…
