My workshop is in my basement. I have quite a bit packed into a 22 X 10 space. Part of my ongoing struggles has to do with the furnace, oil tank and hot water heater that occupy part of my “Man Town”. I’d really like to have a bigger work area, but for now….

I”d say my tools are quite common to the average woodworker.

-10” Craftsman contractors saw. I built a larger work surface around it to give more working space. It usually doubles as a work bench/assembly table.
-Homemade Router table with a Milwaukee 1 3/4 router and a Rousseau Router table.
-Ridgid 14” Bandsaw
-Ridgid 13” Surface Planer
-Delta bench top drill press.
-Dewalt 10” miter saw.
-Grizzly 14” lathe
-Delta 1.5 hp Dust collector. I have it stationary even though it would be a bit more efficient to move it around. I just don’t have the space to move it easily.
-Grizzly G0586 8” Jointer. The latest addition to my shop. I can’t believe it took me this long to get this NECESSARY tool.

There are a few other smaller tools, and a bunch of handtools but this is the bulk of it.

Most of my work is cabinetry, but I’ve done quite a few furniture pieces for my home and for gifts. I did some nice bedroom furniture for my wife and I (a matching bed frame and dresser out of Mahogany, an entertainment center, and a Cherry reclining chair are some of my highlights. I also got hooked on turning a while ago, and though I haven’t had a chance to do any recently, I did quite a few segmented bowls as Christmas gifts a couple years ago.

That’s about it. I don’t have any photos yet, but I’ll be sure to get some up.

Thanks for reading.
Bob

Hi Bob,

Your shop sounds interesting but some pictures of it would be nice as well.
