Balance Board Video - how to make one

I thought many of you would like this video on building a balance board for building core strength. I think it would make a nice project and would be great exercise.

Debbie, I thought so too. It looks so easy to make and they are not cheap to buy either. I looked at the reviews on Amazon.com and it seems that these are a big hit with everybody.

Glad you like it, I hope someone decides to make these. If I was able to make one I probably would to give it a try to see if I like it. These things are suppose to be good for core strength from what I hear, I sure could use some of that.

Dick, lol, so true. It might be a good way to use up scrap wood though.

I’ve been looking to make one of these for a year or more. In the plans I have, they call for a rubberized grippy tape for traction and to keep the tube below from slipping without rolling properly, the problem is they don’t mention where to find it, and I haven’t been able to either.

I’ll have to look at this more closely, as it may be just the ticket… and lord knows I could use a little help strenthening my core.

Thanks for the link!

Here is a page explaining one way to use Skateboard grip tape:
http://skateboard.about.com/od/boardmaintenance/ss/HowToGriptape.htm
Also do a search at Amazon.com for Griptape they have many types of it. The website above says which brands they think is best to use.

Pretty cool. I’ll have to run it by the kids. Have a couple of skateboarder and snow boarders around the house. Looks real easy to build. Could whip up a few templates for the router table.

Oscorner you’re welcome. Wayne, if you make any let me know and that goes for anyone else that makes one.

I wonder if I could use one of these things without killing myself.

Will do. I’ll call my daughter over and ask her what she thinks.

Just found another video, this one is really cool:
http://www.nollie.tv/2006/09/make_your_own_b.html

The site also mentions how to make one.
