The contest is over and I am already looking forward to the next one.I feel that those who won this round earned it.There were a lot of excellent entries and it was hard to sort out the “best” but I am happy with the results.Well done,and congratulations!
Art is subjective,so if you won or lost in this contest,its just someone elses opinion.It doesnt mean your work is bad,just that others prefer coffee over tea.I personally had a hard time deciding on how to divvy up points because there were way too many great projects to choose from.There could easily have been 10 winners.
But….dont take it all too seriously,and dont change your style just to suit what seems to be popular now.
I want thank LJ for all their hard work and everyone that participated in these contests including those who took the time to look at all the entries,then took the time to vote.This really is a great community that helps all of us grow and mature as woodworkers.
The most important thing is to have fun and march to your own drum! Who knows…..maybe next time!:-)

in my opinion EVERY entry was amazing. Voting was really, really difficult. Every time I thought I had my choices I’d go back and look at all the boxes and I’d have to start at square one again.
And.. the prize, for me anyway, isn’t the goal of entering. It is participating, challenging myself to try, and to post it for the world to see. The kind words and the voting is just icing on the cake.

I wish I would have stumbled upon LJ when there was still time to build something to enter. It would not have been a winner (Don’t have the skills yet) but I would have enjoyed the challenge. I hope to be able to give whatever contest comes next a try. I enjoyed viewing each and every entry.

Actually I believe that we all were winners in this contest. Not only did we see some really inspirational works both of art and woodworking but it gave us something to aspire to and work towards as well.
Kudos for everyone involved.
On to the next contest.

Excellent point Andy, art is subjective. After looking thru all the entries, it really was amazing how many directions were taken, all starting with such a simple beginning. Although I didn’t participate, I am so proud just to be part of the community here at lumberjocks. So well done! and thank you all.

All I know is that I saw some breathtaking pieces made for the contest. Great attitude about it Andy! You’re right, all of the pieces could have been winners in my opinion. They were just that good!
