no previous part Part 1 of Cleaning the shop, new dust system, new project series no next part

First the best news in my life, my PSA test came back so low recently they decided to just treat me with hormone therapy, which is fantastic news for me. I was quite scared of the chemo, due to the damage it does on internal organs, ie; liver, pancreas etc. You see I used to drink a lot and I didn’t need anymore liver damage. lol. Anyway I had to sign a waiver because it said I may experience the same things a women goes thru in her change of life. Heck I went through that with my wife. All but the BREAST ENLARGEMENT. I guess I was’nt ready for that part. Well I guess I’ll have to buy a bigger bra. Anyway, it was altogether great news.
Next, after being known as the king of dirty, nasty, filthy workshops, I’ve decided to go on a cleaning spree and get my shop cleaned, organized and install a dust system. I will take pics when It’s complete. I am also starting a bookshelf for my son, unless he changes his mind again. They want to get stuff off the floor in the bedroom since they have added a new member to the family. I have finally realized I have too many tools or at least accessories. I’m the type of guy if I can’t find something I’ll just go buy a new one, hence I end up with doubles, at times triples of things. I know dumb. But my memory is whacked. Well thats where I am today. I still feel like crap from the hormone shots but its better than the alternative. I will be back turning again soon too. I just talked to Lansing Electric and they said probably next week it would be done. Thanks to everyone for your prayers and support I do love you all and God Bless you all. Mike

Mike,

This is tremendous news! As you said, the hormone treatment is by far a better option.

BTW, I just saw a Victoria Secrets commercial apparently- they have 6 in 1 bras on sale. Must be something like a Leatherman’s Tool.

Great to hear you are doing better. A clean shop is so much work , but well worth the effort. When I finally decide to straighten mine out on occasion, I feel so much better. Great when everything is where it’s supposed to be. Good luck on the book shelf, always a good thing to build.

Thanks Lew on that heads up, I was looking at a nice trainer, but maybe I’ll go to something fancy instead. The wife hasn’t mentioned a preference. Everyone, thanks for the support, you don’t know, you’ll never know, the strength and hope it gives you, to have so many people wishing you well and offering their prayers of hope for you. I’m not out of the woods yet but I certainly am in good shape (well that’s debatable).LOL. m

Great News Mike. I know I just cleaned my shop. Now it’s dirty again. Go figure. I would go with a black lace bra. It looks sexier :-)

wow…clean in two areas. Congratulations brother.. I’m the hold out on clean shops. Everytime I think of doing that, I start thinking of things I could build, or magazine artilces I could revisit, or, the one that happens most, I decide to check out what’s on LJ first, then never get back to it.

Patron I don’t have a clue how it’s done. Honestly, I’ve never done it. Anyone on here will attest to that fact. I am just going to start in one corner with my new cyclone and like my old drill sargent used to say if it moves salute it, if it stands still clean it and paint it. So far its been good advice, people look at you weird though when you salute them. Dennis I hate baseball, it was 2 years out of high school before I found out I was near sighted, no wonder I was bad. I couldn’t see the freakin ball. Sorry Adrian there will be no more bang for me :( . I hear you Gary. John Gray I hope in Gods good name you don’t have to go through what many of us have had to. Thanks to all for your support through it all. m

Mike, this is simply wonderful news to hear. As far as cleaning the shop goes I would offer to loan you my wife to help with the effort. But every time she goes through mine I can never seem to locate any of my hand tools since she randomly sticks them in drawers to “organize” them and stacks all of my mobile tools three deep along one wall of the shop. She does make the place look spic and span but I can’t get to any of the tools to do some work. So maybe it is not such a good idea.

” I have finally realized I have too many tools …”

The above quote contains valid English words but when they are strung together like this they seem to lose all meaning LOL! Good luck on the clean up.

Good to hear that things are on the up and up Mike.

Thanks Joe,and Abbot I know about someone helping you clean. That’s why I’m doing it alone. I don’t care how long it takes. Dennis I hate baseball even if I had been good at it. I’d rather watch grass grow.Yea Jerry but it is going to take me a while to get the shop organized. I have taken before pics Gary, they are really bad, I mean bad. I’ll post again when I clean up. I did say Mark I had too many accessories, not tools. You are right can’t have enough tools, do you think 5 jig saws is to many? Oh well. Thanks everyone again. I appreciate the support.

Mike, it’s a man-ssiere or a Bro. You get a bigger rack and you get to keep the whiskers too. Sounds like the best news in a while.
As for the clean shop and the too many tools – there you lost me. Godspeed your return to better health and good luck. You’ll stay on the prayer list until you tell me otherwise.

As a side-light…just a little LJ gossip. Don Barton, king of the boxhounds, and a name older LJs will recognize “friended” me the other day on Facebook. He hasn’t posted for over a year here, when earlier if it was a project tagged “box” he commented on it faster than a duck on a junebug. I had become afraid that he had fallen off the planet, what with that faulty Southern hemispheric gravity and all.

Ya know me thinks he is laying in the weeds just waiting for that fitting moment, or maybe that remarkable box, na that can’t be it. Look at Zonga’s box’s how remarkable can one be. Yet he still hasn’t raised his ugl…. I mean he still hasn’t commented lately. And what about our old buddy Frank, what the heck happened to him? I dunno Lee, maybe Odie’s right, maybe we are going to the dogs. What you say? Ya I am a bit worried about Douggy, the whole manwhore thing ya know.
