Just a note of Thanks for all the prayers and well wishers (I read Karsons blog) my goodness it was great to get such support. This is really the first day I’ve felt like sitting up and typing anything. I have sneaked a peek or two with my wife’s lap top but dang I hate those things. Anyway I can’t say I’m cancer free, I won’t know that until I go back to my Dr. on Mon. the 6th. But he told my family he was confident he got it all, and the Lymph nodes looked good. It’ll be a couple of weeks before I can get back in the shop or more. I can’t wait. Put me in on the fishing lure give away, I have one or two extra, lol, my wife says I have around 10,000 dollars wrapped up in fishing gear and bait. I think she exaggerates way too much, it’s probably more like 9,000.00 dollars. Anyway, I’m in. Send me a PM. Again, it really is something going through an operation 4 hrs long then they could’nt wake me up. Because my feet were up in the air during surgery the blood and fluids went to my head so I had bug eye syndrome and Angelina Golina Pitt lips. My wife was a little freaked out, but the swelling went down eventually. My favorite Uncle died last weekend and we buried him yesterday. Luckily I’m a member of the local Legion and was able to get a wheelchair for nothing. But I had all these strangers coming up to me asking me about my cancer, I thought how in the world did all these people know I was sick, and what I had, I know I was in a wheel chair but to know what I had freaked me out. I guess thats the price you pay for living in a small town. Again thanks very much for the prayers and support, don’t think it did’nt help. You will never know. Congrats to Garyk and DennisZ for their works on FWW. You know you had my support. What great projects you made compared to the ones that won. God Bless all. mike

Good to hear from you! $9,000.00 in gear and bait…sounds just about right. Now if you add poles and reels that should push you over the top. Hope you get to use them!

We’re sorry we hadn’t heard about your surgery.
I’ve been spending a little more time in my shop, & less on LJs.
If you miss one day on this site nowadays, it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle.
You, & your family will be in our thoughts, & prayers.

Get better soon, Mike!
$9000 on non-wood stuff. Disgusting! I’m more a pro-active guy and don’t go for passive things like waiting for a fish to come to me. I get a .22 rifle and go looking for them. You just need to take the refraction from the water into account.

That works Mike. I have seen those simulators before. Lots of smoke and sound before they go off.
Calcium carbide with a fuse in a can with holes for water to get in works also.

I wonder if you’re the guy I heard about.
He was just getting in his boat to do some fishing.
A game warden jumped in the boat with him for a ride.
He asked, “are you the guy that fishes with dynamite”?
They were already half way across the lake by then.
Mike opened his tackle box,
lit a stick of dynamite, handed it to the warden, & said,
Are you going to fish or talk?

Hi Mike, thanks for your comment on my first project (wabi-sabi stool). Like a proud new dad I couldn’t help watching and waiting for comments and had almost given up hope of finding any when I saw yours. Also checked out your many projects and see that you are an artist at heart, too, aren’t you? Anyway, thanks for the kind words.

Thanks Dan and jafu yes I am an artist only at heart, a real wanna be, I did take some college sculpture classes, but that was 1968. So I’ve forgotten anything artsy.
