Well, I dug out all my walnut, well not all, but the amount Karson suggested. After jointing and planning and cutting it all up I found my 2 inch walnut I was going to use for legs ended up at an 1 1/2 inches so I’m making a wood run today out to my wood buddys place today to see if he’s got a 2 1/2 or 3 inch thick board. I’m sure he does he’s got about everything. I do have some oak spindle legs I made a year ago I could use and stain dark, but I want this all walnut. so only one way thats going to happen is to get a bigger board. Which reminds me of an old poem a priest used to say all the time when we were kids. “Any fool can make a fish grow bigger with a lie, but the way to catch a bigger fish, is to use a bigger fly.” So off to woodfarmers I go, besides I get to look over all his wood. I got this walnut from him and it’s old, but man is it pretty grained. Till tommorow, jockmike

If I still lived in Michigan, I would tag along. I spent about 4 years in the Marquette area when I was younger.

Mike the plans show the legs at 1 1/4” thick so the 1 1/2” would work.

I know where Lansing is. : ^ ). It would be a pretty good drive.
I was in the Air Force and stationed at KI Sawyer AFB up there. I left the Air Force to go to college and went to California where I had some family. I’ve been out here ever since.
