I just wanted to let every one know the itchy, crusty, gunky, sneezy, coughing, spalted wood turner is healed up finally. That was quite an experience, and one I would’nt recommend to anyone. I did realize how much I miss the fortress of solitude. I went out yesterday and made her a pair of matching candle sticks out of some exotic that I have no idea what it is, it came with the lathe when I bought it. Very dark brown with white striations throughout. I think its wenge or paduak some unpronounceable word. Anyway I was well bundled up, and took every precaution even though it has’nt been two weeks. Good lesson learned. For me and all of you I hope. jockmike

Thanks Dick, I was/am worried from what I’ve read this stuff, once it gets in your lungs can shorten your life dramatically. Don’t think I want that. Thanks for your concern. It was nasty. I’d get up in the morning and would’nt be able to open my eye due to the crusty crap in them. Gotta save up and get me a head protector thingy. mike

Mike
Years ago you never heard of things like this, & a lot of people were badly handicapped not knowing the cause. We have better ways of detecting things nowadays, but still, those fungi, & virus seem to always be one jump ahead of us.
I once read that the largest fungi in the world is located in the upper peninsula of Michigan.

And theyVe used antibiotics so much on me for sinus infections that they have a hard time finding one that works now. I took 1500mg of kephlex a day for a month before going on zythromax, which finnally knocked it out of me. Thats scary because I’m not alone they used to give out antibiotics like nothing never thinking it could ruin our immune systems.mike
