WOW! what I mean is I spent $150.00 simolioans and all I had was a bag the size of a six pack comes in and 5 boards, none over a foot and a half long, and none thicker than 2 inches. Cripes, what am I gonna tell my wife. By the way, Cripes is in no way related to Our Savior, Jesus Christ. The boards do have funny names like canerva, and brawainia and I think one was called canika dinka something. Way overpriced at $25.00 a board inch. But being dark brown like that I knew it had to be special. They ain’t fooling me. (again). Anyway one guy said he had this special board out back the railroad left behind, he said I could have the damn thing for the sum of ‘ahem’ 20 dollars, if I took out the nails and hauled it away. What a dumb guy!!! I can get twice that back home, I think. Anyway I gotta hide this stuff and hope she don’t look at the bank account for a long time. Wait I could always tell her it was teaching tools for David Craig, Yea, that’s it, I know she’ll fall for that one. (again)

Thanks for the heads up Mike. I don’t mind taking the heat for you, but I am really going to miss those thin mint cookies :)

And just for the record, if I come over there and that is on the lathe, I am handing the chisel right back. I don’t want to be known as the guy you helped out a little only for him to destroy your termite chisel, your exotic wood, AND your marriage :)

Mike, Mike Mike. You don’t tell them that way you don’t lie. You just say you bought a small trinket and conviently forget about the other items. But, only if asked.

That’s it Karson, silence! I just won’t say a darn thing. I’ll just hand her a pretty new cutting board and say, remember that money a while ago, well ….....

I am with Karson, he obviously is an expert wood purchaser… (I have seen pictures of his pile and he is able to “find” a wood stash in his car…) $25 cubic inch? Wow, you obviously have discriminating taste in wood. How about some pics? I would like to see what that stuff looks like…

Hey Jockmike2, which Johnson’s Workbench did you go to to get the wood?
I’m from Grand Rapids and our guild meets at the JW store in GR. I just found out today that they are closing that store April 1st. You might want to take a few more bucks to get more of that wood and maybe at a discount. You can tell your wife they are mementos of the old store

Gee I am outclassed here, I spent $26.00 on 2 Bd.Ft. of lacewood for another lock. She wasn’t happy.
