What a wonderful time and a great bunch of people. I felt like I’d known them all my life. It was funny, my wife was telling me, on the way home, the women had been talking, that all the husbands were not the kind of men to go to gatherings like this, but we were all relaxed and acted like we had known each other our whole lives. On a personal note I want to thank Rick for prodding me into doing this and getting the ball rolling. We had a great time and the trip to the mill was an extra bonus. Kelven even invited us into his home to show us what a beautiful place he had built. He gave us a tour of his operation and a wonderful tutorial on the life of a sawyer, very educational, before he turned us lose on his wood. I hope eveyone went away happy, I sure did. I found and made a deal on a six foot x three foot x 3 inch thick

Congratulations on your successful picnic Mike.
I sounds like you had a lot of fun.

I truly wish you and Karson could have been there, that would have completed the day. Rick took a bunch of pics I’m sure they are coming shortly.

Drag your cursor over the HTML Code link (below the pic) and copy. Then bring it over to the blog and paste it. I would preview it just to make sure it works (but it should). It was great meeting you and your wife. We need to do this again.

Mike, I have a Flickr account too. What I do is open up a separate tab in the same window and bring up my Flickr Acct. on it. Then when I want to upload a picture, I left click on it, and then select “All Sizes”. That will give a screen with several size options- if it’s a digital pic you should be able to use the largest size, if it’s a pic from a regular camera, you might have to use the medium size… Anyway, after you choose, you scroll down to the HTML Code below the Picture, right click, pick “Copy”, come back here to this Tab, right click, and pick “Paste”... like Billy3 said, you can also preview it here to see if it worked…
It sounds complicated but it’s really not that bad once you get the hang of it…
Looking forward to seeing them! Sounds like you guys had a Great Time!! :)

Mike,
I am not a flicker member and couldn’t see any of your pictures. You might have to make them public. There is a “mudpuppy ec” with pictures I could look at.
The message for yours says;
“Mudpuppy doesn’t have anything available to you.”
Steve.

Sorry Mike – I should take the time and read everything! The directions I gave you was based on my experience with Photobucket – not flickr. Sorry. BUT – I was able to follow one of the links and saw the pics. Thanks for posting them, and thanks for organizing this along with Rick.

I agree that this was a great success. It was great meeting others that enjoy the same hobby. Thanks again to Mike and Rick for setting everything up. I am looking forward to the next get together already. Even if it is on the East side of Michigan or near the border!
The side visit to the mill was great. I think that little things like that should be a part of all our future meetings. Mills, custom cabinet shops, etc. etc.
To all of you who decided not to join us, you should really think twice next time. It was worth the time and the drive!

I agree Dustin and thanks, You are a great guy and help make the day with your beaming smile and gifts of veneer. The trip out to the mill was super. The owner Kelven was a most gracious host and had even set up some racks of wood just for us with all different kinds of wood at half off price. Thanks to all that came, and making this a great day.
