I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to the group, say hello, thanks for having me, and I am excited to commune with you all in the days, months, and years to come.

A little about me….

I am a Georgia boy who has settled in Matthews, NC. Happily married to my lovely bride for just over 3 years now, an old dalmation and a 1 yr old english bulldog pup round out our little family right now. I grew up wood working, my grandfather owned a custom picture frame shop and I started banging nails and hand sawing in a miter box when i was about 3 yrs old. I am just now able to begin setting up my own shop, which my wife has allowed me to do in the garage. It is a work in progress, but coming along very well. Just picked up a shopsmith a couple of weeks ago, bandsaw for christmas, router table, jointer are also in the mix, and of course a wide variety of hand tools. I am a special event producer by trade for the town that I am now lucky enough to live in. I am also Executive Director of what has become a very successful community based/community supporting non-profit.

Working with wood is my escape, is my outlet for creative juices and other energy, and it is my homage to my grandfather, who taught me to work with my hands.

Oh, and I have one other little hobby, my 2010 Harley Street Glide! So when I am not turning on the lathe, I am probably out with my bride twisting the throttle.

See you out there in the sawdust!

Hey JJ,
Nice to meet you and welcome aboard. You sound like a guy with his feet on the ground. Cool.
It will be fun to watch your shop and project grow.

Take care,
