computerDesk Cubicle

Here’s yet another project I did for myself. When you have 3 children with you in a 3 bedroom house there isn’t any room for a computer desk, or anything else for that matter. So…What you do is beg your wife for months to allow you to set up a little desk in the corner of your bed room. only thing is, by the time you’ve figured out the space needed to put everything the desk seems to grow. Anyway this is what it wound up looking like:

You know how that I look back I realized I never finished staining the upper parts. The desk (lower part) is now in my oldest son’s room. There are still 2 at home. youngest married. Daugther moved out. We snatched up his room. Made a den out of it. Made a game room out of the basement. Took it all out for my daughter when she moved back in…but that’s another story. LOL.

Entertainment Center

This is an entertainment center I built when I got a big screen tv. Built the center around the dim. of the tv.

Both sides have a sliding drawer that holds the cd’s, dvd’s and vcr tapes.

This is a picture facing more toward the right side a little closer.

Since these pictures were taken my wife has adorned the shelves with all kinds of knick/nacks to give it a homey feel. Wives are very good at that sort of thing.

letter holder

Latest finished project. Made a bill holder to organize our monthly bills. One day project. nothing really classy about it. Just one of many ongoing projects I do. Thanks for any comments in advance.

The scroll work was the most difficult because I did it after I finished the work. Decided late in the project to do it. Poor planing on my part. But I do that kinda thing to often.

A closer look at the contrast of wood. (Picture 3). I know that the darker wood is cherry. (that’s some of the wood my brother-in-law gave me. But the lighter wood I got off a pallet. No clue what it is. LOL

Redoing The Work Shop

My work shop is in my garage down stairs across from the basement. I have had it for about 9 years now.

Saw a clip some time ago where someone hid all their tools in mobile units and stored them under a large workbench out of the way. Well, I liked the concept and planned toward doing the same thing.

Completely gutted my shop and disassembled all the cabinets. Stacked all the press board, and began creating mobile units for my shop (out of the materials from the old cabinets).

To my surprise, found that I have to many heavy tools to drag them on and off the top of the mobile units. So I scratched the original idea and drew a plan to stage the units around the edge of the garage.

I am about 3/4 way done. Hope to finish everything by the end of my next vacation time (In June). I work on it on my days off. So it will take some time to finish it all.

I have a few pictures of a couple of the units. Will add them here as soon as I can.
