I signed up for an all day Hand Plane class that was to be this sunday at my local Woodcraft. Unfortunatly I was the only one who signed up and I guess the teacher wasn’t happy about that so he canceled the class.
Fortunatly, Bruce one of the employees is very good with hand planes and offered to give me the ins and outs this saturday afternoon after the normal demo he’s giving.
I’m sure he’ll get a hand plane sale out of me because I would like to buy a new one and get used to it and understand how one is supposed to work before I get into building or restoring any future hand planes.
The new woodriver ones have gotten excellent reviews, so I think that’ll be what I’ll get.
We shall see, woodworkers guild meeting is tonight so that should be fun.

I thought about attending the one this Sat at the woodcraft but the mother-in-law is coming to town and there is no way out. Hopefully she’ll bring the No.4 stanley in her checked baggage.
