Location: Mulhouse - France
Website:

Hobby woodworker and fully crazy with SketchUp. An amazing toy !

So a brief presentation of myself. I’m 56 years old and living in France (nobody is perfect !) near the city of Mulhouse in the Nord-East of France close to the German and Swiss boarder. I started cutting pieces of wood around 7 years ago but only during my free time. One and half year ago I’ve discovered SketchUp and became totally addict !

Hello Jft68,

Welcome to LJs. I hope that you will find this to be an rewarding and informational aspect of your woodworking adventure.

Hi everybody and thank you for welcoming.
I’m sure I’ll find a lot of interestings subjects here.
Currently I’m testing a Ruby script for SketchUp >>> Cut ListAndMaterials.
Very interesting indeed and I’ve a few problems with some issues. I’ll come back on this later on.
I did a complete translation of this tool in french language for the previous version 4.0.
And now I’ve discovered on your site a new version 4.05. I need to check what main changes are.
So I’m sure I’ll post there very soon.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Tom, I know how addict I can be to all the nice woodworkers forums. And if you add my terrific passion for SketcHup I can tell you you are more playing with your keyboard and mouse than making dust in your workshop ! For sure my wife can tell you something about this ;-)

So a brief presentation of myself. I’m 56 years old and living in France (nobody is perfect !) near the city of Mulhouse in the Nord-East of France close to the German and Swiss boarder. I started cutting pieces of wood around 7 years ago but only during my free time. One and half year ago I’ve discovered SketchUp and become totally addict ! SketchUp was not really well known in our country for woodworker’s usage so I decided to promote it a bit. I launched a thread in May 2007 trying to explain how to use it.
Seems it has been appreciate … Link here but only in french !
I’ll present my shop and some of my basic projects pretty soon.
Thanks again for welcoming
PS: I’m far than good in english and hope you understand my comments.

Salut Jean-Franco. Bienvenue a Lumberjocks!

Welcome to Lumberjocks!

Bonjour Steve !
Faites-moi savoir.

Hi Steve !
thanks for your comments in french !
A great honor for me !
No problem to send you the 3 files I’ve translated in french. But for now I did it for version 4.0.1 and not for the release I’ve discovered here yesterday. I’ve to go through your release to update it. Maybe you can help telling me which lines have been added and/or modified between the two versions. This concern probably only the Ruby script because the two html files are mainly dedicated to the UI.
Let me know.

Salut Jeanmarc,
