Part 1: Get a handle on it..
Hello all, I thought I’d post a short blog on the handscrew clamps I have just made. I was short on clamps for extra cauls on some laminated panels I am working on, as usual i didn’t find what I need on sale here so I had to knock something together. Part 2: Further fun with clamp handles..
Well, I have had a busy few days, i should in fact be in the workshop now but i woke up today and could barely stand up. Sciatica attacks once again :( I tried to get on for while but ended up having to sit down and wondering how I would get back out of the chair. In the absence of pharmaceuticals I have had to break out a bottle of rum to try and take the edge of the pain.. Part 3: Finishing Up..
Thought I’d finish this up with a final post, I am not including too much info about how I made the jaws as all that is well covered by danriffle in his original blog here. As I was to use threaded rod in place of wooden screws I created the threaded jaw with two pieces laminated together and morticed the nuts into one of the pieces, having predilled thos epieces to locate the mortice correctly.. Unfortunately I was enjoying chopping out the little hexagons and forgot to take any pic...
