Wine Box Coat Rack

I made this project pretty quickly out of part of a wine crate that i found in a skip. Someone told me to put it between the wall and mirror, and i really regret cutting it down. Still, it’s quite cute, and a bit different. I am not sure what the wood is—maybe oak? And i put i think two coats of danish oil on it.

The writing says Avnei Hachoshen—which are the stones on the High Priest’s breastplate (i am not so great with the English terms, but i think that’s what it is). Also, i think they are referred to in the New Testament in Revelations. Anyway, it’s some kind of wine! And the pegs i used are from Ikea, in the series Grundtal.

This was my first crack at a dining table. A more complete account of the fiasco that is this table is on my blog.
