<div>Finally! Cabinetry is being recognised as a visual art with the exhibition celebrating the work of Andre Charles Boulle. The exhibit focuses on his marquetry, and though it’s in Frankfurt, details of the exhibit can be seen here. It’s a pretty big deal for woodworkers and art aficionados alike. According to the Art Newspaper, this exhibit will be ‘one of the major cultural and artistic events of the moment.’</div>

Glad you guys like it—i can’t even remember how i stumbled upon this, but i’m glad i could share it with the LJ community! A friend of mine is always involved in the Pan Amsterdam and she took me last year. There were some REMARKABLE pieces of cabinetry. I remember coming back again and again to a particular kast—Dutch for cabinet, i think, until i just stopped being self conscious and unabashedly hung about it for probably an hour! It was divine!
