Iam semi-retired. we have a greenhouse operation we run in the spring of the year(Feb. to june). The rest of the year i woodwork. I make cutting boards , wooden spoons and other kitchen ware plus some footstools to sell. I also make wooden basket bases for the basketweavers in our area. I used to make ladderback chairs and rockers, but after making several thousand i just got sick of doing the same thing. Iam having more fun now.
I use oak , cherry, walnut, maple, mahogany, poplar and sometimes other native hardwoods when I can get them.
I like to design and make my own equipment-stroke sander, dowel cutting machine and spring loaded hold down so far, but I have a few other ideas.
