I make my living in the custom carpentry bussiness have for the last 29 years, i do custom interior trim and remodeling.I have messed around with some furniture building and and lots of cabinet making but have always done so in the feild or in my old very very small shop, this is the first time that i have ever had a shop set up the way i wanted and with enough size that you dont have to go out side just to change your mind.I have spent a lot of sleepless nights and lunch hours in my truck dreaming and drawing this little slice of heven on earth.as you all know you can never have enough room in a shop but i have learned that if you organize it well its much bigger than if you dont ( duh )
This new shop is to serve a lot of needs 1. just have fun and make some awsome projects for my more than deserving wife and kids 2.have a oppertunity to spend time sharing the knowledge that i have gained over the years with my faimly and friends 3. and to allow some oppertunities to add to the over all gross income of this household (i got a wedding to pay for this spring ). very excited about this new shop. I cantwait to start some re sawing with the new jet 14''on a small pile of osage orange that i got from my father in law ( cool guy that he is letting me have it ) I am happy to have found this web site and all the very talented people associated with it Thanks all JerryVR

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself just about 2 years ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
I apologize for the late welcome but I am currently serving overseas and don’t have a lot of spare time on my hands.
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
