I use flying dutchman sr 5 , but what will help is to cover your wood with strapping tape, it lets the blade cut better and not burn the wood. speed depends on how tight you are going to cut. I have a dewalt scroll saw and like to cut on # 3 witch is in the mid range

i have a halk scroll saw and it all dependes on the thickness of the wood 1/2 inch to 1 ’’ use #5 ,7, 9 r tooth for small wood 0/2 or #2 ,3,4 for wood under 1/2 inch and also file the back of the blade to help for tight ridius . happy scrolling
